Wool cat beds

Soft, structured beds for cats who like to keep watch

Open-top wool basket beds give your cat the best of both worlds: a soft, low place to curl up and a clear view of the room. Each one is hand-felted in Nepal from pure New Zealand wool — plastic-free, temperature-regulating and built to hold its shape for years.

Open-top comfort for cats who like to keep watch

Not every cat wants to be fully enclosed. Some want to curl up soft and low while still seeing the room — the doorway, the window, you. An open-top wool basket bed gives them exactly that: raised, cushioned sides to lean into and a clear line of sight that keeps a watchful cat relaxed. If your cat prefers to be tucked away entirely, browse our enclosed cat caves instead.

Hand-felted wool that holds its shape

Each bed is wet-felted by hand in Nepal from 100% New Zealand wool — soft enough to sink into, structured enough to stand up on its own for years. Wool naturally regulates temperature, so the bed feels warm in winter and never sweaty in summer. No foam to crumble, no synthetic stuffing to clump.

Beautiful enough to leave out

In natural and softly dyed wool tones, these basket beds look more like a considered home object than a pet product. Round, calm and tactile, they sit happily in a living room or bedroom — which is part of why they make such a well-received gift for cat owners.

Plastic-free and made to last

No glue, no PVA, no toxic chemicals — pure wool, felted by hand. It's renewable, biodegradable and naturally hard-wearing, so one quality bed replaces a pile of cheap synthetic ones over your cat's life. Better for your cat, your home and the long-run cost.

Cat bed questions, answered

What's the difference between a cat bed and a cat cave?

A cat bed is open-topped — a soft basket your cat curls into while still watching the room. A cat cave is fully enclosed, for cats who prefer to hide and den. Many homes keep one of each. Cats who like to keep an eye on things usually prefer the open bed.

What size should I choose?

Our open-top beds suit most adult cats up to around 7 kg. Each is shaped by hand, so dimensions vary a little — check the measurements on each product page. For larger cats or two cats sharing, message us first and we'll recommend the right size.

How do I keep a wool cat bed clean?

Wool resists odour and dirt, so most beds just need a regular shake-out and an occasional spot-clean with cool water and mild soap. Reshape and air-dry away from direct heat. Skip the washing machine — it can shrink and over-felt the wool.

Is shipping really free, and where from?

Shipping is free once your order passes your country's threshold — see our shipping page for exact amounts. We fulfil from the USA, Australia or Nepal — whichever is nearest — so most orders arrive without customs surprises, backed by our 30-day cat-acceptance guarantee.
